Further Sound Desk Training

The following training is for sound desk operators who are already familiar and comfortable with the basic setup guide, the Setup and Operation Guide , and Mixing the Camera Audio Feed. Once you are familiar with the above, we would encourage you to continue developing your mixing skills by considering the following additional resources and training:

QU Getting Started Guide

The QU Getting Started Guide  goes into more details on some of the mixer's features and functions, and may help you to get a better understanding of why and how our setup works. Please note that as we have configured much of the system to remain setup "as is" parts of the Getting Started guide will not be directly relevant to your weekly setup and operation of the WBC sound desk, but may still be useful to know.

Pro Audio EXP Online Training

Pro Audio EXP has two different online training courses that may be useful in further developing your understanding and skills:

• Free Church Sound Training  - You can sign up to this basic free course to receive several short, basic videos which outline some useful skills for mixing church audio.
• QU Series Training  - WBC has obtained access to this paid course which provides a comprehensive guide to mixing, focused around the QU series of mixers (the type of mixer used in the WBC auditorium). Click here to request the username and password needed to access this course (available to everyone on the sound desk roster).

QSC House of Worship Online Training

The QSC House of Worship training  is a free comprehensive course covering many aspects of mixing. It includes some very useful modules, however it also includes modules relevant to QSC equipment (which is not relevant to us at WBC), so you will need to pick and choose which sections of the course to watch. Note that registering is optional - you do not need to log in to view the course material.

Church Sound Australia Community

The Church Sound Australia Community facebook group  is a great group to be a member of, and the team from Turramurra Music (who moderate the group) also regularly host in person Church Sound Essentials training courses which we highly recommend.
