WBC Live Stream Instructions

Setup Camera

• Remove lens cap, open flap, and ensure power point is turned on
• Turn on the TVs in the parents’ room and the foyer, and set their volumes appropriately
• Adjust the camera settings

Setup ATEM Mini

• Ensure ATEM Mini is powered on, and ensure “CUT” is lit up white
• Ensure “ON” above input 1 (not above MIC 1) – is lit up red
• Ensure “STILL” is lit up red
• Ensure the preview monitor is turned on, and showing the preview, program, and all inputs

Perform Sound Check

• The Front of House (main) mix on the sound desk is sent to the ATEM via the camera, however if individual channels need adjustment this can be done in Mix 9-10 on the sound desk
• Audio levels should be going well into the yellow zone on the ATEM monitor, or just into the red

Setup Broadcast

• Open Google Chrome and in the top-right select the correct Chrome Profile - Wollongong Baptist (blue) for 6pm; or WBCCS (pink) for Chinese
• Go to YouTube Livestream  (on the bookmarks bar; or go to studio.youtube.com  and click Create > Go Live > Manage)
• Click Schedule Stream > Reuse Settings then enter details, check the thumbnail, playlist etc
• Under “Customisation” ensure “Live chat” and “Live chat replay” are NOT checked
• Schedule the stream start for the appropriate time
• Click the “COPY” button beside “Stream key”
• Open “ATEM Software Control”, select the Output tab under Switcher, and paste the stream key into “Key”
• Select the Media tab and choose the desired still from the Media dropdown menu
• On the ATEM Mini, select “ON AIR” (this will send the feed to YouTube, but will not start the scheduled stream until you choose to in YouTube) – it should light up red
• English Services: In Chrome, enable “Closed captions” and select “Automatic captions” as the source
• Ensure “Enable DVR” is checked
• If YouTube gives any warnings about “bitrate too low” this can generally be ignored, as the ATEM only send what it needs to
• 6pm Service: Click the Share icon (arrow) in the top right and choose Facebook, then change the dropdown to “Share on a page you manage” and ensure “Wollongong Baptist Church” shows as the page
• 6pm Service: Open Facebook  and share the page’s post to the “WBC Evening Community” group

Go Live

• In YouTube click GO LIVE
• On the ATEM Mini, switch to input 1 or the appropriate input

• Throughout the service, switch between inputs as appropriate – eg switch to Slides (input 3) for brief periods as necessary during the sermon. For bible passages, have “Slides” up while the passage is being read
• If audio needs adjustment throughout the service, use the Sound Desk iPad on Mix9-10 to adjust either individual channels or the mix. If the iPad is not available, you can adjust the level using the up and down arrows above input 1 on the ATEM Mini

End Live

• On the ATEM Mini select “STILL” then select “OFF” above input 1
• Once the still image appears in YouTube click “END STREAM” and confirm, then “DISMISS” – do not end the stream too early (there is a delay between live and what is shown on the YouTube preview)
• The recording will appear in the YouTube channel after some time
• On the ATEM Mini select “OFF” below “ON AIR”
